I tried that on a AMD 386-40 (this is not an intel processor, but
supposed to be 100% compatible) with 2 MB RAM and a Seagate
ST-277R RLL HD.
Linux 0.96 and all of its predecessors work just dandy on my no-name
AMD 386-40 PC clone. X also runs on my generic pvga card, too.
