That's simply not ture (read bullshit (sorry ...)).
There are TWO lines of Logitech mice out there. One is programmable
and uses MouseSystems protocol at start up. X386 reprogramms them to
use another protocol that is more relieable in terms of lost bytes
than the MouseSystems is. If you specify 'Logitech' in Xconfig, X386
assumes such a mouse (like the C7 and the S9 (not the C7-M !)).
The second line is MircoSoft compatible. They come up in that typical
format plus some extensions, that make the middle button work.
Currently all newer Logitech mice follow this practice, like the
MouseMan, and so on. There you have to say 'MicroSoft' or 'MouseMan'.
Thus next time before you start bitching think about what you are
saying, and understand whats going on.
