How does VP/IX basically work? It comes distributed with a Phoenix
Bios image file. Since each DOS session requires at least 1 meg, it
sounds to me like you're just getting a separate copy of the Bios
image for each one. Is it not possible to create an emulator for Linux
where it comes with a program that will dump anybody's ROM Bios to an
image file and /that/ can be loaded into the proper VM86 memory space
before DOS 3.3, 4.0, 5.0, etc. gets loaded? My assumption though is that
the Phoenix Bios image you get with VP/IX is not specially modified.
It would be interesting to hear someone post to comp.os.linux who
knows how the basic process works and why it would be extremely difficult
to reproduce.
