Subject: Suggestion: A "how did I port" directory.
Date: 17 Mar 1992 20:52:02 GMT

I think that we should create a "how did I port ...." directory.
This list should be maintained at one of the FTP sites. Everyone who
ports something to linux should be requested to enter a file, with
information that will make it easier for the rest of us.
I'll give an example to make things clear:

Program ported: Mtools.
Program version: 2.05
FTP site: nic.funet.fi
Directory: pub/...... (sorry, don't know right now)
Linux version: 0.12 & 0.95
Kernel patches: NONE
program patches: Edit devices.c for your configuration.
Makefile flags: NONE
Warnings that can be ignored: NONE

Patches that were required should be included, except as in this case,
where the patch is configuration dependent.
