From: laakkone@klaava.Helsinki.FI (Tero Laakkonen) Subject: tlA+tlQ: DrDos mistook Linux partition for D: drive! Date: 30 Jun 1992 20:14:00 GMT
this is my first posting to this news group.
every message i send to this news group will have "tlA" or "tlQ" in the
subject line, depending on whether i wanna "announce" something
or "question" something.
this is what i have this time (tlA):
last night, when partitioning my hard disk for the purpose of first time
installation of a Linux/Dos system, i noticed that DrDos thought the
63M Linux partition i had created using pfdisk (of Id 129) for Linux
was a Dos partition.
i got out of the situation by just booting Linux and installing the stuff on
the partition reserved for it. so nothing serious happened. Linux "knew" that
the partition created for it was *its* partition and not just another
Dos partition.
i think this is weird. i have to refrain from typing "D:<ENTER>" whilst in
DrDos in order avoid life's more intricate complexities...
anybody know if there's a way to fix this kind of thing? (tlQ)
