KA9Q is available for many system. Strictly, it's only for use on
amateur radio, but I *believe* Phil Karn has relaxed this recently
to allow some sort of share-ware arrangement.

I'm using it from home on a 386/20 with a dialup V32bis ( :-) )
modem under DOS ( :-( - hope Linux TCP/IP gets sorted soon).
Several others are using Sun's, Atari's, Archimedes ... into the
same system.

I am mailing you with some appropriate information about a U.K.
Internet service.
