A couple of months ago (I think in March) Jim Tsillas posted a speedup
patch for the R5 version of X386, called fX386, to alt.sources. It just
replaced the C implementation of some of the most time consuming
routines (bitblt, etc...) with assembler equivalents.
At that time I used Xenix, so I recompiled my Xenix port of X386 with
these patches and the server performance increased noticable.
I found text scrolling in an xterm was twice as much faster as before...
Is this patch already included in the Linux release of X386 or will
it be included in the next release??
