Subject: some problems under linux
Date: Sun, 21 Jun 1992 15:19:30 GMT

I used vile under linux and it worked fine before. Last night I compiled
ps, df, and free. They works. However, when I tried to use vile to edit,
I got the following message and could not use vile anymore:
general protection: 0000
EIP: 000f : 00006c09
EFLAGS : 00010256
ESP: 0017 : 03BFFE9C
fs : 0017
base 1c000000, limit: 04000000
stack:0000000A 00000000 00037000 00012890
pid: 21, process nr:7
c6 40 04 3c a1 78 b6 02 00 c1

I got similar message before when I tried to use kermit5A. Since I am not
familiar with kermit, I thought it was kermit's problem. But now suddenly
I can run kermit without this message. I cannot figure out why?

Another problem related to /dev/PS1. When I try mount or tar with /dev/PS1
I get flopy-reset called message. However, for small file < 1.44Mb the
following works for tar:
cat < /dev/PS1 | tar xvf -

Hope someone can help. Thank you in advance!
