From: adam@owlnet.rice.edu (Adam Justin Thornton) Subject: Kernel 0.96a compilation problems... Date: Sun, 14 Jun 1992 22:12:47 GMT
I've got a 4M Gateway 2000 386/25 with 387/25 (Intel) coprocessor.
When I compile the kernel without the math emulation stuff, it gets through
the socket initialization bit and then reboots; with math emulation it
works fine.
Has anyone compiled the kernel to use hardware math? What am I missing
(yes, standard compile, no patches, just adding -Iinclude to the makefile
for tools/build.c and commenting out an undeclared function in stdlib.h that
gags gcc)?
Also, X manages to blank my screen before wandering off into nowhereland...
where do I find an installation guide more complete than in the docs section
of the 1.0 release? How long _should_ X take to come up if I have it working
OK?
