when i tried to boot linux this morning, everything went according to
plan, but then suddenly stopped just before the login sequence began. it
didn't report any errors, and it recognized the hard drive, reporting the
correct number of free blocks and inodes. and then it just stopped. so
i went back to my original boot floppy, and it did the same thing. so i
went back to boot floppy with a root floppy also, and it still did the
same thing. i don't know what could be causing this. if anyone else
does, please let me know. i don't want to have to start over and
re-install. especially since i'm not sure it will help.
