8M swap, UN4010 Tseng 4000, ARTEC 3button mouse (mousesystems). Kernel 96a patch1,
compiled with gcc2.11c. Symptom is system hangs (dies?) at random(?) time between
before X386 clears the screen to after 10 minutes of ok operation (twm or olvwm).
Usually gets to manager (xsetroot run - manager running). Frequently hangs halfway
through painting the twm menu on first left button click. Sometimes dies moving
X cursor before any buttons pressed. Sometimes i've had an xclock and xterm run
for several minutes and it died as i was editing (xterm, bash, vi) on a keypress.
Usually if i get an xterm, i can kill it by trying to move the xterm on the screen
rapidly.
It is not hanging in X386 - a process to repeatedly timestamp a file started before
X stops at the same time system 'hangs'. Only way to recover is press reboot. Have
tried different ide controller and serial board - no change. Anyone else seen
and/or solved this?
