On our Suns we use commercial software for some word processing.
Depending upon the user and the group, WordPerfect, IslandWrite, or
Publisher. The one free program I've seen that might do the job is
"doc". Unfortunately this depends upon Interviews, and I'm not sure
whether Interviews under G++ is stable yet. We've had a comple of
versions of doc up for test, but I'm not sure whether it's solid yet.
Doc is a WYSIWG word processor whose files are in a format that looks
*very* close to LaTeX, though it isn't exactly LaTeX (and doesn't
use TeX to process). I think once Interview and doc are solid,
it's going to become quite popular.
