Most of the good et4000 cards have a high dot clock of 80. Hmm, can
the S3 (namely, the Diamond Stealth) be programmed to emit a dot clock
to at least 100Mhz? This would make 1152x900 adequate (according to
Satish's xclk program).

  There is a PD (well, freely available, whatever) S3 project in the works.
Hopefully, we'll all have a nice Christmas present. ;-) If the S3 can
drive the better 17" monitors without flicker and without moire' problems
(brought on also by too low a dot clock), then with it's added speed
advantages over the et4000, it will be the ideal card to use for X386.
Also, by the Fall, the price will hopefully drop below $200.
