There is no reason that the poster of the RFD needs to be in any
particular part of the world or under any particular domain. He only
needs to follow the guidelines. Which means that I could do it (and I
don't pay for Usenet access, since I am a student and use the
university's networking), but since I am mostly opposed to the idea, I
won't.
So what's it gonna be, splitters? _DO_ you really want a split of
comp.os.linux, or do you not? If you want it badly enough, post an RFD,
and get the ball rolling. It isn't going to happen by itself, and I am
under the impression that any discussion before an RFD (and probably
outside of news.groups) is going to be wasted, as far as the guidelines
are concerned. So do something, or let the thread die.
Post an RFD, or stop wasting everybody's time with splitting discussion.
