Well, I *did* recreate all the /dev/ttys* files (4-64, 4-66, 4-67 and 4-68
respectively)

I got rid of anything that referred to the serial ports.

I recompiled kermit using gcc 2.2.2, and recompiled the kernel as well...if
anything, things have deteriorated.

I don't get it....*grrr*

Ah well, c'est la vie, I guess...
