Subject: New MGR beta release (sources only)
Date: Mon, 20 Jul 1992 09:26:24 GMT

After a busy weekend, a new MGR release for programmers is available
from ftp.thp.uni-koeln.de:linux/beta/mgr.

The installation is easier now, the MGR server runs much more stable
(no core dumps this weekend!!!) and more clients compile. I also cleaned
it a little up, so it nearly works on Sun (with -DLINUX). I will continue
cleaning up things until there is a new and portable release.

Groff dies with segmentation violation on the documentation, but I don't
have the time to fix that and nroff on SunOS works ok. Fixes are welcome.
If there is enough interest, I will provide a formatted ASCII version of
the programmers manual next time.

It would be nice if someone with a MouseSystems mouse could check if it
works with -DSUN_MOUSE. I heard rumours about that, but can't check it on
my own. There are three and five byte Sun mice, detected at run time.

The bitblit libraries work for Hercules cards, VGA (colour only) and SunOS
monochrome.

If you already have the last release at home, you don't need to get the fonts
and icons again.
