Hi linuxers,
first a report on How-to-kill-an-OS : I tried the infinite fork() loop
proposed some days ago on my Sun-4 at work (SunOS4.1.1) - there is no
chance to kill that process. root is not allowed to login, and also
quitting the terminal window (cmdtool under OpenWindows) did not help.
Even leaving olvm gave no possibility to fork another shell sub-process
ps aux gave me a vfork error ... I had to re-start the machine, running
a 2-days modelling job (near its end...). Seems that SunOS is not very
sure - should I update to 4.1.2 (having passed the crashme test) ? or
even Solaris 2.0 ???
Second, I have the maybe common problems with X & mouse. I use a Targa
TM-101/102 series, 3 buttons, only running in Microsoft mode, both with
/tst/mouse/mouse and X11v1.1. This should be a PAQ (Previously Answered
Question [C] ), bu tI didn't find it in the FAQ :
How can I switch the mouse to 3button MouseSystems mode ?
I'm not sure, but an answer might have been in the digests some tens before
- I could not find anything about it in my brain...
So somebody can help me ?
