Yes... and, no. I'm running X at 1152x900 with a 65Mhz clock, and have
no problem with flicker. The magic? Dark backgrounds. If you're not
silly enough to window in black-text-on-white-screen, your flickering
worries will be over.

Try green2 on DarkSlateBlue.
