Subject: Trivial: shutdown doesn't
Date: 19 Jul 1992 15:40:08 GMT

Since messing around with kernel configs and X11 on my 0.96c Linux
the shutdown program (taken from .96 mcc interim) has gone on strike.
IT prints its message, but then simply hangs rather than doing anything
useful (like shutting down the system). E.g. reboot prints a shutdown
message immediately but then just sits there (S-ed) if you do
a ps to see what's going on.

Any ideas what might be going on? I changed a few /dev permissions
and the like in the period when the misbehaviour began.
