Oops. I forgot to mention that the sleep/wakeup code changes in patch2
change the kernel data structures enough to freak out 'ps' etc programs
that go mucking around with /dev/kmem. It is not enough just to do a
"ps U" to update the nametables: you actually have to recompile the ps
package.
