Subject: 0.96c rebooting again...
Date: Fri, 17 Jul 1992 15:44:12 GMT

I *FINALLY* got my 486/50 day before yesterday... and proceeded to
start to setup 0.96c...

Pulled down the root and boot images from mit and used rawrite to put
them on 1.44 floppies...

Reboot with the bootimage disk in...
I get the "loading" message and the SVGA message and if I press return
the SVGA choices too...

but then the machine will "hard" boot.. do the mem checks and all..
(regardless if the machine was cold or warm booted) and it never gets to
the point where it will ask for the root filesystem disk.

Machine is:

        Intel 486dx1/50
        Joint Data Motherboard (localbus)
Joint Data g-host4000 video (ET4000 based localbus)
        /dev/fd0 is 1.44
        /dev/fd1 is 1.2
        /dev/hda is Connor 161M IDE

version 0.95c+ boots fine.. but since it's a New installation, I'd rather
use 0.96c.. (esp for the shared libs on the new root).

I *DO* remember talk of the reboots a while back, when 0.96 first came out
but they're gone of our news-server.

Any ideas?
