MvS> Hmm, I'm the guy who wrote the Sysv compatible init that's in
poe's
MvS> adm package. I implemented the CTRL-ALT-DEL trick in Minix about a
year
MvS> ago, and mentioned it to some people in the Linux world. To my
pleasant
MvS> surprise I saw that Linux now handles CTRL-ALT-DEL the same way:
by
MvS> sending a SIGINT to init. My Init treats INT the same as the PWR
signal:
MvS> it run the inittab entries of type 'powerwait' and 'powerfail'.
These can
MvS> be just about anything, a script file or whatever. I
MvS> use the next line myself:

 MvS> pf::powerwait:/etc/shutdown -rf now > /dev/console < /dev/console
2>&1

Sounds great! This is just the sort of thing to improve usability and
practicality....

MvS> My init is now much more standard and bug free, expect
 MvS> to see it available
MvS> on some ftp archive soon (After I've written the man pages for
shutdown,
MvS> reboot, halt, wall, and inittab.... Bleach.)

Could you use some help with those...? ;-) Seriously, I'm literate,
and would enjoy writing that material for you. Reference material and
narrative prose are my specialties. Let me know if you're interested
and I'll be glad to generate a sample....
