shoelace does not work on extended partitions, at least not unless
you end the previous partition one sector before the end of a cylinder,
so that the next bit of partition table comes at the end of the cylinder,
and the start of the extended partition comes in the first sector of
the cylinder. Nasty. Shoelace will be obsolete when the new file
system is used for root partitions anyway.

Type sync a couple of times, then CTRL-ALT-DEL. Reboot ought to work,
though. I didn't include it in the MCC release because I don't have
source to it yet.
