Are the S3 chip specs available from the vendor without paying some
outrageous $10,000 or so "licensing fee" ??? This is what would keep
a good free X386 S3 driver from ever coming about. Either that or
we'd have to wait for some SVGA graphics book to come out and talk about
the details (i.e. someone else figured it out the hard way or payed the
big bucks).
