I would certainly expect both to be available. But the primary
advantage of PPP is the ability to do muliple protocols. For simple
TCP usage, it's overengineered. I can't see why it would perform
better than SLIP, unless perhaps you were comparing PPP with header
compression to SLIP without hearder compression.
