Subject: how to fdisk a SCSI drive
Date: 1 Jul 1992 10:25:19 GMT

When I want to install Linux at home, I get some problems concerning
my SCSI HD (WD4200) 200MB with the Adaptec 1542b:

the Linux v0.96b boots correct, but when I want to use fdisk it doesn't work;
when I start fdisk, nothing happens and I return to prompt.
Then I tried to use pfdisk, with the message to change the HD-params; but all
params I tried were wrong.

e.g. G 179 64 32 (the minix-fdisk params)
        G 987 12 35 (HD-params found in c't-magazine 5/92)

Can somebody help me to solve my problems to install Linux correct on my HD.

Another question is how I put the other Linux software (e.g. GNU sowtware)

The only way (for me) to take the software home is to get the software from the
archives and put them to a formatted DOS-floppy.
But then I have the problem to put the files from the DOS-floppy to Linux.
