I plan to add this information if I post the list again. And yes it
is from SLS, from 0.98, those programs listed did not work under 0.99.

If you don't you have to hack around the source code of normally
working programs, with 4.2, you can leave things alone...great for us that
just want to get the usenet feed going again with playing around with
sigaction calls etc... lazy way out...but quick

Good point...but a few people posted they tried to upgrade to 4.2 and
killed their link, which killed their system. That paragraph was intended
to help those people.
The entire purpose of the list was to reduce the amount of traffic with
questions about uucp, cnews, sed...etc...with 0.99....as it was getting
ridiculous.
That sed problem was a toughie...drove me nuts till I got it...
