Subject: [Q] why is printing so slow all of a sudden?
Date: 28 Dec 1992 14:52:11 GMT

I've just installed SLS .99.1, and when I cat anything to /dev/lp1, it works,
but only prints a line every 4-6 seconds. It's intolerable!

I've tried cat, cp, pr, combinations of such, and as long as the last thing
is: ... > /dev/lp1, it is S L O W.

I've tried it in the background (cat file > /dev/lp1 &) and foreground, with
different VC's - each way produces the same lethargic behavior. .96 did not
do this.

Is TCP/IP causing this? How can it be changed?

Much thanks.

Also, why is .99.1 source not included w/SLS install?

Mike
