To use MBOOT (a free program distributed by PC Magazine in Vol 10 Number 4),
you also need a program called BOOTLIN. I'm using v1.3. Sorry, I don't have
the name of the author handy, but the program is free. BOOTLIN loads
the linux kernel from the MS-DOS commandline. To use it with MBOOT, use
your ordinary CONFIG.SYS as the DOS version. For the LINUX partition,
boot from the MS-DOS partition using a statement something like
SHELL=c:\BOOTLIN BOOT986.HD
as the only line in the alternate CONFIG.SYS file. The full instructions
are included with BOOTLIN and MBOOT. The system ends up requiring
that your linux kernel "Image" file be stored somewhere in your DOS
partition. It's was a snap to install. Just make sure that you have
v1.3 or later of BOOTLIN. If you have any questions, please e-mail.
