   Hello all:
It appears that the newest doc will not run on a 386 without a math chip.
Although I don't have a math chip, I am able to compile and run doc. It only
runs properly on a machine with a math coprocessor. I am not sure if it will

run on the 386 + 387 combination O.K., but it definitely does on the 486DX.
Also, my computer may be at fault, so others without a math chip should try
it and let us know how it goes.
I am not sure what this says about out FPU-emu, (which is a fine piece of
work IMHO). Perhaps under some conditions, it does not work properly. On the

other hand, it could be the compiler, kernel, or something else.
All the other apps seem to work fine, so don't be discouraged from trying
the patches to get idraw and ibuild built if you don't have the math chip.
But if all you want is doc, get the older version 3.0.1 from the SLS package
(it now has AFM fonts). It is roughly equivalent in functionality.

                                Regards, Michael.
