Check how they implemented the power management on
the notebook before buying it. If they use the BIOS
and custom (DOS) software, you are out of luck unless
they give you enough technical info (which is rare).
My Compaq LTE seems to use dedicated hardware. Even
while running Linux, hotkey combinations to change
the clock speed and pop up little windows keep working.
I can suspend and restart the system anytime. Only
little problem is that Linux complains about unexpected
HD interrupts when the HD starts spinning again.
