Subject: 0.99 SLS won't boot :-(

I installed the new 0.99 kernel and ps/w/free/top/uptime from SLS to my
(then) working 0.98-5 SLS system and it gets a General Protection Error
after saying the partition table is ok. Does anyone have a clue regarding
this ?

general protection: 0000
EIP: 0008:0000B6C4
EFLAGS: 00010206
FS: 0017
base: C0000000, limit: 000A0000
pid: 1, process nr: 1
8b 13 85 d2 74 27 83 3a 02 74

The only other thing I get above this is a warning:

Warning, WD8013 board not found at i/o=280
(which is correct...I don't have an ethernet board)

only other thing I can think of is that it takes a LONG time
to go through it's checks before it checks the partition tables for
the two hard disks...much longer than 0.98-5 took.
