Don't forget that there are TWO interface choices for these, the floppy
interface and the parallel interface. The driver code would most definitely
be different. I'm guessing the parallel code would be simpler if you don't
need to also use the parallel port for a printer (but where else would it go).

I assume we can treat these devices as byte stream from the application level
and use tar (or cpio or whatever) and as block.

I'm interested in the technical device info if you get it.
