Subject: Compiling 0.99 sources is barfing for me

Ok, here's the situation:
I got linux-0.99.tar.Z off of tsx-11
uncompressed it and untarred it into the proper dirs.
editted the Makefile and chose the proper keyboard etc
did a "make config" and answered the questions. I told config to
NOT use TCP/IP and NOT use the iso CDROM stuff or any CDROM stuff at all.

When I try to do a "make depend" it barfs on some error about the iso CDROM
stuff which I told config not to even use.
Ignoring this dependency error, I went ahead and tried a "make all".
This in turn barfed on another thing that I said NOT to include, TCP/IP
support.

What am I doing wrong here!!??
