Yep I did that: the code to dump the VGA registers is in the VGA-LIB
package. It dumps the registers, I save them to a file, I run X,
next I quit X and dump the registers again. Result: Exactly the same
as before. What seems to be happening is that X restores the same
registers that vgalib knows about......
