Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: LILO 0.7 released
Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1992 06:24:14 GMT

LILO 0.7 can be obtained from sunsite.unc.edu:pub/Linux/Incoming now and
soon from tsx-11.mit.edu, probably in pub/linux/packages/lilo

The files are:

lilo.7.tar.Z Program and documentation source and support files.
    lilo.7.ps.Z Documentation in PostScript format.

The key features of 0.7 are support for VGA mode and RAM disk size
settings (this was causing the recent flood of problems with 0.98pl6 and
SLS 0.98pl5), a completely new configuration method and an improved
README for those who can't print LaTeX or PS. The beginning of the
CHANGES file is attached to this posting.

This release has been done in a hurry because of the incompatibilities
with 0.98pl6. Thus I didn't have time to print and proofread the
documentation, so expect poor layout, typos and maybe other errors in
the new or changed parts. I'll probably make a new release in about a
week to fix what I've missed this time and also to add some lower
priority feature.

There are some subtle incompatibilities to older versions of LILO
because of the new configuration method. Please read the file
INCOMPAT.
