I think you should be able to use the Os-boot manager you already have.
At least, you can try to boot linux without messing up your current
config. You need to install lilo into the boot sector of the linux
partition (not the Master Boot Record of your hardrive, that would
probably mess up your existing config). There's a good documentation
file that comes with lilo, and it is also tar.Z'd in postscript
form on tsx-11.mit.edu.
