Subject: linux bootup failure

I am having the following problem. After going through the install of
Linux 0.98pl5 (SLS) without a hitch, rebooted the machine with the boot
floppy just created, and got the following after screen setup (SVGA) message:

ttys0 at 0x03f9 (irq = 4) is a 16450
ttys1 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16450

Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M, fd1 is 1.2M
sock_init: initializing family 1 (AF_UNIX)

Warning WD8013 board not found at i/o = 280.

  Logical part 5 start 102 size 65518 end 65619
  Logical part 6 start 65637 size 21318 end 86954
Partition tables ok.

And there the system hangs. Nothing else happens. Pressing ALT-F2 gives
me a blank screen but no login prompt. ALT-F1 takes me back. I suspect that
the warning about WD8013 is the clue but not sure what this is telling me.
My configuration is:

DTK 386/25, 8mb memory, (2) 40mb MFM drives (ST-251-1, ST-4053), 64k cache,
Logix 2000 Super-VGA video card (Trident 8900B), WD clone 8013 2hd/2fd ctlr,
NE-1000 clone ethernet card, Central Point Copy Option Board, 1.44 & 1.2mb
fd's, I/O card w/2s,1p,1g.

If anyone has any clues as to what may be happening, any and all help is
Greatly Appreciated! Thanks in advance!
