I've found a solution!! Get the file sunrpc-bin-4.0.tar.Z from
tsx-11.mit.edu from the directory /pub/linux/ALPHA/NFS. If you
uncompress and tar it, it'll extract a whole set of files, of which
you'd only need one - /usr/lib/librpclib.a ... copy this to your
/usr/lib directory and try installing xview3.0 again. It should work.
After it's installation, you'd need to rename a couple of files in the
/usr/openwin/lib directory. The files there have their names truncated
(for some reason - MINIX file system I suppose).
Oooops. Before I go on, I think you may need Linux to be on an extended
filesystem. The files in the above directory will have to be renamed as
follows :-
openwin-menu-d to openwin-menu-demo
openwin-menu-s to openwin-menu-shells
openwin-menu-e to openwin-menu-editors
openwin-menu-g to openwin-menu-games
openwin-menu-t to openwin-menu-tools
and so on....so far the above works...you'd have to figure out the rest
of the openwin-menu names...I don't know if I've got all of them correct
yet (except for the ones mentioned).
Hope this helps...
