That's really strange... That's what happened way back before the
select() stuff was working correctly.

You might want to check to see that your select() handling hasn't
changed any... I'll take a look at the code you sent when I have time.
It sounds as though the interrupt routine isn't waking up the select() call.
So the keyboard is what wakes up the X server from its select() call,
and it notices that the mouse has been racking up counters too.
