Note: you don't want to use compression on (1) swap partitions, and
(2) R/O filesystems. For those who have never worked on filesystems
before.

I don't understand all the traffic about something that wouldn't be
feasible, anyway. Compression on a regular filesystem should work
great, with only a small decrease in speed. Compression on anything
else (like a swap partition) just shows your ignorance. Sure, it would
work, but it would require a *lot* of changes to the kernel.
