I thought I'd better let all the people who e-mailed me know what was
going on. Boy did I get a flooded mailbox. Anyway I've been busy with
assignments, my thesis and other related work, plus I've been waiting for
another drive to arrive. So finally I've made the diffs. They're
against a bare bones 3.0.1 release. I haven't yet had a chance to upload
them to an ftp site, but I'd thought I'd better warn people who were
interested to grab the original source. (It's around 3Mb so it may take
a while.) Hopefully I'll get the diffs uploaded within the next two days
and I'll post a follow up when they become available. I've also tarred
up the two libraries which were compiled with GCC v2.2.2 so for those of
you who don't have 24Mb of memory, or must have TIFF support, they'll be
available also. I will not make any of the sample binaries available as
they're just too buggy. I am making the patches available in the hope
that somebody with some spare time can have a look and also share some
fixes. Most people were interested in Doc, but at the moment it's not a
pretty sight. It compiles fine, however I can't make any sense out of
what shows up on the screen. Again it's something for somebody with
some time to look into. If you're tight for drive space you may have to
consider something else. The source tree for 3.0.1 is around 9Mb, whilst
the two libraries are 3Mb. Then you have to have space for the things
you want to compile. Executable size for ibuild is 2.5Mb, for idraw it's
1.5Mb. When (not if:-) we get proper shared library support ala SunOS this
should drop, along with the memory requirements.

Roger.
