The SMC Elite16 series is claimed to be compatible with the WD 8013.
(I heard a rumor that WD is no longer making cards, and SMC has taken
over their line, but I'm by no means sure of that.) This is the
standard card at Rutgers, and I'm not surprised that it's the standard
card at CMU as well. They perform very well, have lots of software
that supports them, and aren't very expensive. I've used one
successfully with the WD driver under 386BSD and we.c under Linux.
Since the new TCP/IP seems to be using a later version of we.c, I'd be
*very* surprised if it didn't work.
