The Linux digests are merely a digested form of the comp.os.linux
newsgroup. It's primarily intended for people who do not have usenet
access, but who still want to find out what's going on with Linux. Each
digest contains between 20k to 30k of Linux articles; and people who are
receiving the digest can send mail to the digest list and their mail
messages will be automatically gatewayed into Usenet, comp.os.linux.
It's also a good way of searching the "back issues" of comp.os.linux.
Back issues of the digest can be found on tsx-11.mit.edu, in
/pub/linux/mail-archives.
