Might it be time to consider reorganizing the directory structure
of the Linux ftp sites? So many people are working on so much
and being so successful that it's virtually impossible to figure
out where to get what. Is it reasonable to expect people to read
an upload announcement of 'freds utilities assortment' and understand
that it's the exact thing they need ?

I've been working on it..... unfortunately, it's taking a while. You
will be noticing the directory structure on tsx-11 gradually mutating
towards something that's a bit more understandable over the next few
months. Many of the newer packages which are being uloaded are being
placed in /pub/linux/packages, for example.

Unfortunately, what I've been running into is something that Librarians
have know for a long time --- storing books (files) is easy. Cataloging
and indexing so that people can successfully find what they want later
on is the hard part, and that's what takes all of the time and effort.
