How do you explain the same errors on two completely different
mainboards? The boards I tested had only one common factor: the AMD
386.
You were unlucky? Seriously, I have a AMD 386, running at 40MHz, and it
runs Linux, with X11 at 1024x768 resolution, and it works just fine.
How do you explain *that*? There have also be several people on
comp.os.linux who have chimed up in the past saying that they've run
Linux on the AMD 386 without any problems. There's nothing like
existence proofs to carry the day! :-)
