From: tony@vax.oxford.ac.uk Subject: Groff binary problems Date: 7 Aug 1992 11:37:25 GMT
Dear Linux Gurus,
I'm having problems with the groff binaries from tsx. Having
installed all the bits in /usr/local/ then moved them /usr (OK, so I got it
wrong to start off with :-) I get the following error message when I try & read
any of the man pages.
using groff -man -T ascii /usr/man/man1/gtroff.1
I get the following on /dev/tty (not stderr !) :-
d9f2 fxxx not implemented
& this on stderr :-
groff: groff: Signal 4
I get some of the man page on screen, but not all - always stops at the same
place.
Any ideas ? I'm supprised I'm getting a message to /dev/tty (ie the message
will go to the current virt. console - not the one issuing the command)
I've undoubtedly done something wrong/stupid but I'm supprised the errors
haven't all gone to stderr.
Chears,
Tony
