Subject: Why 0.97 is slower.

I too have noticed a reduction in speed from .96 to .97 :(. Here is my setup
386-25 4ram 12swap. I suspect the new buffer optimizations are treating the
virtual ram (swap file) as hardware ram. If this is so, I would be happy with
the older scheme, because it was quite fast on my machine.
   Question: is it difficult to hard wire the the buffers if one chooses to
override the dynamic scheme. Also, if I am correct (that will be a new one :)
could a priority be given to the hardware ram, over the swap?
