I've compiled w/o the SCSI support and had no problem whatsoever... in
a specific case. Originally, I intended (and tried) to boot using
shoelace; this fails miserably. Copying the image to a floppy, and
booting from there, works fine. Time to move to lilo...
(I'm not sure if this is your problem, but I'm running on a 486/33,
213 IDE, EISA, etc, so it just might be...)
