No...Major 8 is SCSI, I have no idea what Major 16 is...
I think /dev/sdb1 would be 1708, but I'm not positive. (I used the mcc
interim release, and sdb2 was already mknod-ed and worked, so I didn't
actually bother to find out what the minor number is. I _think_ minor
0 is the whole 0th SCSI hd, minor 16 the whole 1st SCSI hd, and so on,
but I don't remember for sure. I believe the SCSI FAQ gives the gory
details.)
